Inference requests (chat completions and decisions) count toward a limit for your organization and the model you call.

Your limits

Each model’s limit is shared by all of your organization’s API keys and console sessions. Your organization’s limits for each model are listed on the Models page of Liquid Console. To request a higher limit, contact us. A model may limit requests per minute and per second, and also estimated tokens per minute (TPM) and per second (TPS). Tokens for rate limiting are estimated at four characters of request text per token plus 1,500 per image, then corrected by the response’s reported output tokens, so they can differ from billed usage.
Invalid, unauthorized, unknown-model, and unavailable-model requests do not consume quota.

Rate limit headers

As in OpenAI’s API, locally checked responses carry headers that describe your limit:

Limited requests

A request over your organization’s limit returns 429 with a Retry-After header, in integral seconds:
The official OpenAI SDKs retry it automatically. If you call the API directly, wait for Retry-After before retrying.
